- Title of Project: Extreme bending strain induced novel interfaces in single crystal cantilevers of strongly correlated metals
Thesis Abstract: Strain is a well-known tuning parameter for correlated systems. Applying a strain gradient to samples of such materials, i.e. by bending, allows for an investigation of interfaces between different material states within the same sample. I use focused ion beam microstructuring to create single crystal cantilevers to conduct transport measurements under reversible bending strain in order to investigate the formation and effects of such interfaces.
